Jared's Two Year Update - April 2010

Jared: Jared turned 2 this month. He's still growing at a monster pace -- he's in the 85th percentile for height and 90th for weight. He wears the same size shoes as Noah, who's two years older, and is a full 2 inches taller than either of his brothers were at the same age. He's doing great -- talking non-stop, telling jokes, singing songs. He regularly beats up on his brothers and is often in trouble. Just a few weeks ago, he got a hold of the car keys and very nearly started the car. He literally dives head first into anything and everything that could possible make any sort of mess.

Noah: Noah will be 4 in just a couple of months and while he is often terrorized by his younger brother, he is a very happy boy. But when he is in a bad mood, watch out!! Noah can go from sunny to stormy and back again in less than a minute. He loves to dance and sing and he idolizes his big brother. He started preschool this January and loved it.

Aidan: Aidan is almost done with his 3rd grade year. He's done very well in school again this year, all straight A's. And, he even won a prize at this year's science fair! He's doing great on the swim team -- moving up a level and improving his times in all events. He's also started running a little bit and will be participating in the Race for the Cure in May.

Savta & Sabba

Galit's parents, Savta & Sabba to the boys, have been in central VA for the last 8 months. This week, they head up north, then west and won't be back this way for at least a year. We had a great "last visit" with them and Galit's sister Edva in Petersburg. Even when Jared threw up on their dog Mocha's head, we all had a great time.

Jared's 2nd Birthday

Jared, Noah, & Galit spent Jared's birthday at the Children's Museum. Then we had a BBQ at our house with friends and family.

Richmond Zoo

Over spring break, we went to the zoo with a bunch of friends. The kids had a great time seeing all the animals and feeding the giraffes and birds.

Easter

This year we were thrilled to be able to spend Easter in Canada with Mac's family. We spent some great quality time with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

California for Grandpa's 90th Birthday

Galit's grandfather celebrated his 90th birthday this March. Galit, Aidan, Galit's Mom & sister Edva, went to California to visit with aunts, uncles, and cousins who we haven't seen in many years. We also had a little bit of time to sightsee in beautiful San Francisco.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

This winter was the craziest winter we've seen in our 8 years here in Virginia. We typically have pretty mild winters -- a cold week here and there, maybe a few inches of snow if we're lucky. This year we had 3 snowstorms drop over a foot of snow each and at one point, there was so much snow, we thought it would never melt! The kids absolutely loved it, but Jared & Noah were too little to walk in the deep snow for very long, so it made for a long winter indoors. It was beautiful, but we're glad spring is here!

By the third snowstorm, we finally had the right kind for a snowman.Miles, 8, and Kira, 6, came over on a school snow day.
