Up to 18 months (3/24/03)
Halfway through his second year already! Aidan is doing great and so are the rest of us. At his 18 month checkup, Aidan was 26 lbs., 8 oz. (50th percentile) and 32 1/2 inches long (50th to 75th percentile). He has been very busy since his first birthday! We've had lots of playgroups, playdates, and birthday parties (Courtney, Olivia, & Lawson), new additions to our playgroups (Katie & Mason), gone swimming at the gym's indoor pool, and have had many trips to the park. He's got all his teeth, except the two year molars, and talks up a storm -- we've stopped counting how many, but he's probably getting close to 100. Here's what Aidan's been up to in the last six months:
- October '02: The sniper attacks kept us indoors for much of October, but thankfully the snipers were caught quickly and we could go about our lives. Tour of the fire station (Aidan was just starting to try to walk and when he let go of my hand, he fell head first on the fire truck -- his first big bump!), pumpkin picking, MOMS Club Halloween Party, Aunt Dani visits, finally starts walking at 13 months.
- November '02: started losing AM nap, blows kisses, gets first shoes, Savta & Sabba (Galit's parents) visit for Thanksgiving & Hanukkah; lit candles with Jack & his family
- December '02: 1st snow of the winter, Aunt Eddi ("Vav" to Aidan) comes to visit, holiday parties, trip to Canada (to visit Mac's family) for Christmas, 1st trip to Penn State (On our way to and from Canada we stopped at Penn State and showed Aidan around. We also were able to get together with some friends we hadn't seen in a while.), 1st sleigh ride (in Canada)
- January '03: watched PSU lose to Auburn in the Capitol One bowl game (heartbreaking!), playdate at Chuck E. Cheese (the first of many!), Dani & Brad's wedding ( for pictures click here), Superbowl Party at Jack's house (Aidan learned to throw his football down and yell "Touchdown!"), started music class at the Children's Museum (with Jack), learned "No!"
- February '03: learned how to undo a zipper (specifically his PJs -- we'd go to get him in the morning and he'd be half-dresed), saw a wallaby, pig, lots of dogs & cats at the Pet Expo, more snow (and lots of ice, too), sits on his potty (but only with his clothes on or his naked bottom about two inches away from the surface), his new playroom is finished
- March '03: starts telling us when he has a dirty diaper ("EW!"), goes from stomach virus to eye infection to ear infection all within a month, walks up steps by himself (when there is a railing he can hold on to), goes roller skating and likes it so much we got Aidan his own skates, goes up and down the slide by himself, visits the Richmond SPCA (and amazingly we came home empty-handed), (Mac's parents) Gramma & Grandpa (or "PaPa" to Aidan) visit, starts using two words together
